Eye Conditions

What Conditions does Z-LASIK Treat?

Myopia

Myopia, or “nearsightedness” is the most common reason for needing distance glasses.

Myopia occurs when the eye grows too long for the natural curvature of the cornea (clear window at the front of the eye). In myopic eyes, light rays focus in front of the retina.

Fortunately, myopia can be corrected with either Bladeless LASIK or Custom PRK.

Hyperopia

Hyperopia, or “farsightedness” means the eye is too short for the natural curvature of the cornea (clear window at the front of the eye).

In hyperopic eyes, light rays are focused behind the retina.

Fortunately, hyperopia can be corrected with either Bladeless LASIK or Custom PRK.

Astigmatism

Astigmatism means that the eye is shaped like an egg, so light rays do not come into clear focus on the retina.

Astigmatism can occur alone, or in combination with myopia and hyperopia.

Fortunately, astigmatism can be corrected with either Bladeless LASIK or Custom PRK.

Presbyopia

Around the age of 45, everyone starts to need reading glasses. This is due to a natural process in the lens of the eye. This is called Presbyopia.

LCC offers Custom Monovision LASIK and PRK treatments, as well as Refractive Lens Exchange with Presbyopic Implants.
