Main Body

Custom PRK, or photorefractive keratectomy, is a custom laser procedure for vision correction. The surface cells of the cornea are removed instead of creating a flap (these cells regrow in a few days), and then the excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea for your glasses prescription, as well as treat any unique surface aberrations.

Custom PRK is usually used for people who have thin corneas, high glasses prescriptions, or larger surface irregularities.

Custom PRK gives the same excellent results as LASIK, but the healing process takes longer than LASIK.

What's the difference between LASIK and PRK?

LCC offers both Bladeless Custom Lasik and Custom PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy), depending on which procedure is best suited for you.
