In august 2019, Dr. Lane travelled to Panama City, Florida to spend the day with Dr. Bret Fisher, at the Eye Care Center of North Florida.
Dr. Lane believes it is important to share ideas and learn about the latest eye care techniques with others in the field of refractive surgery to advance our knowledge and skills. This is the reason Dr. Lane, from the Lasik Cataract Center in Lindsay Ontario, makes time to travel to other eye care centers every year.

What impressed Dr. Lane the most about his visit to Dr. Fisher’s organization in Panama City, was the the mobile excimer refractive surgery program. Dr. Fisher has a team trained technicians that move excimer and femtosecond lasers from city to city in Florida to provide advanced bladeless LASIK to communities that may not otherwise have access to this advanced technology. This is achieved with a special modified truck for the excimer laser, and a wheelchair accessible minivan for the femtosecond laser. This specialized team has the packing, transport, and setup of these complex machines down to a fine science.
